The Festive Period is Upon Us!
It’s all about Social Media Marketing & Online Marketing Fundamentals…
Wow, I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! The last 7 months have been a complete whirlwind as I’ve been setting my business up. I’ve been learning about social media marketing & online marketing fundamentals and many other interesting things I’d never even heard of before May.
The learning curve was steep and at times the stress has been high, but I have to say it’s been worth every minute. I’ve met so many wonderful people and businesses through this venture that otherwise I would never have gotten the opportunity to meet.
The Last Month
So what have I been up to since my last blog post…
The focus has been on expanding my knowledge in marketing this past month, from social media marketing and SEO to email marketing. I’m really enjoying applying what I’ve learned and seeing the results. There have been plenty of networking events, which was way out of my comfort zone just 2 months ago. I’m now feeling far more confident with these.
Google Digital Garage
I also spent some time at the Google Digital Garage Bus – Sheffield to make sure I am always learning and always moving the business in the right direction. The biggest take away from that was the amount of information and help that is readily available and for free!!
As a result of the Google Digital Garage Bus event I signed up for Google’s Digital training, again this is free. From this I picked up a lot of great ideas and tips and also gained the Online Marketing Fundamentals qualification, in partnership with Google and iab Europe.
The Next Month and Beyond
Over the coming months I’m going to become more and more active on social media, especially with LinkedIn. This is to help keep my finger on the pulse for what new opportunities there are for both me and my clients. I believe I’m starting to get there with 18 new followers on Twitter in the past month, not bad considering I had none in October.
On a personal level, for me the last few weeks have been focused on the upcoming festivities. My social calendar seems to have gone to an all new high and it’s the time of year when I really like to entertain friends and family, decorate the house and make my own mince pies (which get big thumbs up every year) along with baking a couple of cakes.
The New Year
I’m really looking forward to going through some goal setting processes over Christmas to really get creative with what can be achieved by this time next year. My aim is to come up with 3 personal and 3 business related.
I believe it is important to keep stretching outside of the comfort zone both in business and life in general. You need to push yourself to raise your standards and challenge what you think you can’t achieve, so that’s exactly what I plan on doing.
Happy Christmas!
Tracy
Sounds fantastic Tracy, there is always something new to learn!
